SUPER WALDIN 2020 Dry Weight 14.49%
September 12, 2020. I notice this tree a couple of days ago. It has two relative small shoots coming from the base of the rootstock, loaded with fruit. The fruit. Is rounder than the Waldin may be a bit larger. Out of the 5 fruits I picked the weight were: 22.8, 18.5, 21.6, 24.2 and 21.9. Average 22 oz. The fruit is very clean no sign of disease. This area just gets on spray a year probably in May. It has more pulp than the Waldin. Not as tasty as the 75-16. Dry weight 14.49% The seeds. Of the 5 fruit 4 had seeds loose in the cavity indicating the fruit is ready to mature when picked. But all had void space in the seed cavity. One shooting out a root. I would say the the seeds are smaller than Waldin by 20-25%. Their average diameter is 50 mm. October 8, 2020: The fruit continues to eat well. The seeds continue to exhibit an emergence of roots. However the pulp is fine no damage or penetration of roots in the pulp. Probably because the cavity has been bigger than the seed on every fruit. All the cavities have a brown thin film that is a big difficult to remove. May be this is an early fruit, saw several in the ground today and picked the last 3 on the tree. |
