Pura Vida Avocado 

This cought my attention. 
"Through their many expeditions and negotiations, Campbell and Ledesma have brought some knockout avocados back to the Fairchild Garden. There is one they found in a backyard garden in Rivas, Nicaragua called the Pura Vida. The Pura Vida bears gourd-shaped fruits averaging 18 inches in length, with some growing as long as 3 feet." 
January 30, 2014.  A tree was top worked. There will be at least a couple of years before we see anything on this.
March 12, 2014: Grafts don't look good
Grafts fails second time I tried getting this variety. I don't recall this every happening.
