Sharwil Avocado B flower type
This is one of the "classic" avocados. I have not been able to get a clear answer as to why this is not grown in South Florida. that is why I decided to find out by growing two trees and to report on them. It is probably the climate but since I have been surprised by other varieties nothing like finding out for yourself.
First I'm not sure if Kona Sharwil and Sharwil are one and the same. I think so. Two trees were top worked on December 2013.
February 26, 2015: Out of the two grafted trees the one on the north looks a lot better than the one 30 feet south. Not sure why. The tree is flowering now, nor sure when it started but is not in full blooms so it was probably few days ago.

September 22, 2015: I had not stopped by this tree for a month so I stopped today. I found a lot of fruit on thr floor. Some fruit hanging on the tree about the same size of the fruit that dropped. See today's pictures. I did picked two fruits about the same size as the one dropping and came in at 8.2 and 8.7 oz, I have read that fruit size is 8-16 oz so these are dropping just above 8 oz. The tree does not hold fruit in this wet and hot weather. That is probably the reason it does not grow well here. I will see if the fruit ripens.
October 25, 2015: The fruit did ripen evenly and it tasted very good an creamy, no fibers, even color. The skin did not come off easily but it was easy to scoop with a spoon. a lot of the fruit have fallen and I don't think any have grown to more than 9 oz. This has been the first fruit set of the tree but will give it another year.
